Edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files in the browser
Open and edit .docx, .xlsx and .pptx files right in MyDocUploads, with every save kept as a new version.
You can edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files without downloading them. The editor opens in your browser, and every save goes into the file's version history.
Which files you can edit
- Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx) and PowerPoint (.pptx) files can be edited.
- Older or other formats, such as .doc, .xls, .ppt, .odt, .rtf, .txt and .csv, open to view but not to edit. PDFs open to view.
Edit a file
- Open the workspace and find the file.
- Open the file. Word, Excel and PowerPoint files open in the browser editor.
- Make your changes. Each save creates a new version of the file.
Work on a file together
Several people can edit the same file at the same time. You need the Edit permission in that workspace to edit files.
Find an earlier version
Open the file's Details to see how many versions it has, then Version history to see each version (v1, v2, v3).
Common questions
Is editing available on every plan?
Yes. Editing in the browser is included on every plan.
Does another company see my files when I edit them?
No. The editor runs in our own AWS account, so your files aren't sent to an outside editing service.
