Archive a client workspace when the work is done

Keep a finished client's files available without them counting toward your plan.

Updated November 7, 2026

When the work for a client is done, archive their workspace. Everything stays there, but the workspace no longer counts toward your plan's workspace limit.

What archiving does

  • Files stay viewable and downloadable.
  • Nothing new can be added, and the workspace's links stop accepting uploads.
  • The workspace no longer counts toward your plan.
  • It shows as "(Archived)" in the workspace switcher.

Archive a workspace

Only the workspace owner can archive it.

  1. Switch to the workspace.
  2. Select the gear icon next to the workspace switcher to open Workspace settings.
  3. Under Archive this workspace, select Archive.

Your personal workspace can't be archived.

Restore a workspace

  1. Switch to the archived workspace. A banner says it's archived.
  2. Select Restore workspace in the banner, or Restore in Workspace settings.

Restoring makes the workspace count toward your plan again, so it needs a free workspace on your plan. If there isn't one, archive another workspace or upgrade first.

Common questions

Are files deleted when I archive a workspace?

No. Files stay exactly where they are, and you can still view and download them. Restore the workspace any time to start adding files again.
