Discuss and approve a file in Conversations
Comment on a file, mention a colleague, and record an approval right on the file.
Conversations keep the discussion about a file next to the file, not in an email thread. When the file is agreed, mark it approved, and the approval goes into the workspace's activity record.
Comment on a file
- Open the file in its workspace.
- Add your comment in the conversation next to the file.
- Type @ and a name to mention a colleague. They get a notification.
Clients can join the conversation on a file you've shared with them, when you tick Allow chat & comments on the share link. They need to sign in to comment.
Mark a file approved
When everyone agrees, select Mark Approved. The conversation locks to read-only, and the approval is recorded with who approved it and when.
Today, workspace admins can mark a file approved.
Reopen the discussion
If something needs to change after approval, an admin selects Request Changes. That reopens the conversation.
Common questions
Where can I see approvals later?
Every approval is kept in the workspace's activity record, along with uploads, signatures and other actions.
Is Conversations a chat app?
No. Each conversation belongs to one file. There are no direct messages or company-wide channels.
