Share a file or folder with a link
Send a client a secure link to view or download a file, with an optional password, expiry and use limit.
Share a file or folder with anyone, even people who don't have a MyDocUploads account.
Create a share link
- Open the workspace and find the file or folder.
- Select Share (the share icon on the row, or Share in the item's menu).
- On the Link tab, choose the Access:
- View only
- View & download
- Edit
- Optional: add a Password, pick when the link Expires (1 hour, 1 day, 7 days, 30 days or never), and set Max uses.
- Optional: tick Allow chat & comments so the client can discuss the file with you. Visitors need to sign in to comment.
- For some documents you can tick Share as PDF, so the client sees and downloads a PDF copy instead of the original.
- Select Create link, then Copy it and send it to your client.
Share with specific people instead
On the People tab, enter the person's Email, choose their access level and select Invite. Everyone you've shared with is listed under People with access, where you can also remove access.
See and manage your links
Select Shared in the left sidebar to see the links you've created.
Common questions
If I add a password to the link, how should I send it?
Send the password separately from the link, for example by phone, or use Secure Drop so it expires after it's read.
