Create a client workspace

Give each client their own workspace so their files, links and conversations stay in one place.

Updated November 7, 2026

A workspace holds everything for one client: files and folders, share links, file requests and conversations. Most companies create one workspace per client.

Before you start

You need to be the organization owner or an admin to create workspaces. Your plan sets how many active workspaces you can have. Archived workspaces don't count toward that limit.

Create the workspace

  1. In the left sidebar, under the workspace switcher, select New workspace.
  2. Enter a Workspace name, such as the client's company name.
  3. Select Create.

The new workspace opens right away. Switch between workspaces at any time with the workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar.

If you've reached your plan's limit

If your plan has no free workspace, you'll see a message with a link to upgrade. You can also archive a workspace you no longer need, which frees up its place.

Common questions

Does my personal workspace count toward my plan?

Yes. Every account has a personal workspace, and it counts toward your plan's workspace limit. It can't be archived.
